I would like to wish you and your family a very Happy New Year! After the pre-holiday craziness it was wonderful to have a slower pace during the break. Our family found time to play ultimate frisbee on the beach, play games in front of the fire and see several movies. I hope all of you found opportunities to relax and share special times with family and friends as well.
I’m sure many of you are looking to what’s coming next for 2012 and find the uncertainty unnerving. You want to start planning, looking into neighborhoods, schools, jobs and all the other details that come with moving. Whether you get several months notice or several weeks I know that all of you will be successful in your planning and moving as you prepare for your next adventure.
I do hope you will take full advantage of some unique opportunities with the time you still have here in Montgomery. Try to see a performance at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival if you haven’t yet. My husband and I just booked our tickets to see a play in January, yea! The International Officer Culture Day on March 17th is a must do.
Another exciting day to look forward to is the JTF Bowl where USAF students take on the other branches in a flag football game and the US students verse the IOs in a soccer match. Finally, the Gathering of Eagles on June 6-8 will provide opportunities to meet some amazing heroes and listen to their stories. Stay warm and enjoy!
